Committee Volunteer

The Florida Magazine Association is seeking committed and talented volunteers to serve on committees. Volunteers are vital to the success of FMA's mission and goals.

The primary responsibility of volunteers is to attend an annual planning meeting typically held in November in the Orlando area, participate on conference calls throughout the year, attend the annual conference/trade show and awards ceremony, encourage the involvement of magazines and publishers in FMA, and act as an advocate in promoting and supporting the industry.

Annual Conference/Trade Show & Charlie Awards Committee

The annual conference includes keynote/general sessions, several educational tracks, a trade show and networking events that requires help to plan. The committee's primary goal is to determine topics, speakers, trade show logistics, special activities, marketing and recruiting attendance, industry suppliers and sponsorships.

The Charlie Awards committee is responsible for program planning and for confirming all award categories are relevant and will be open for submission. The committee will also be responsible for assisting in finding out-of-state judges, developing judging rules and regulations, marketing and promoting awards submissions and sponsorship.

Membership & Marketing Committee

This membership committee is responsible for working with the board and staff in developing a membership recruitment and retention plan.

The marketing committee is tasked with coordinating the content of the website, social media, electronic/print communications, surveys, and industry data for the online resource library.
