Florida Magazine 2011/2012 Committees

Annual Conference & Tradeshow Committee:

The Annual Conference has 4 tracks, a trade show and keynote/general sessions that we need people to help plan. If they would like to be a part of the planning of the annual conference & tradeshow they can work on any of the following areas once the initial planning is underway:

      1. Tracks - Publisher/Circulation & Marketing/Design/Editorial/Sales/Web (suggestions)
      2. Trade show
      3. Keynote and general session
      4. Special Events

Planning for the conference will start in November 2009. Participation will include at least 5 teleconferences, e-mail communication and possible calls to potential speakers to invite them to the conference within a six month window.

Charlie Awards Committee:

The Charlie committee will be responsible for working with the staff Charlie Award Director and confirming that all categories are relevant and will be open for submission. The committee will also be responsible for assisting in finding out-of-state judges and developing judging rules and regulations. The designer on the committee will be responsible for putting together the Charlie Awards presentation for the banquet.

FMA would like to make the Hall of Fame awards bigger and better next year, changing up the way that it is done and reconstruct the application and rules of the competition.

Planning will start in October 2009. The participation for this committee will involve at least 5 teleconferences, email communication and some calls to judges and/or magazines/persons that have entered within a six month window.

Membership/Marketing Committee:

This committee is responsible for working with staff and developing a membership recruitment and retention plan and determining special events FMA will participate in and assisting in coordinating these efforts. The participation for these committees will involve at least 5 teleconferences, email communication and some calls to judges and/or magazines/persons that have entered within a six month window.

Data Resource / Website Committee:

This committee is responsible for developing surveys and an online library for the FMA web site. This information will be used by the membership/marketing committee as a member recruitment tool. This will be an ongoing committee and should have a teleconference once a quarter at minimum.
