SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with and director, production and new media, editorial director and manager of web operations to establish design strategies and goals of printed and online material.
Prepares page layout grid (imposition) for magazine.
Creates and develops graphic design of book, print (e.g., magazine and custom publications), and online material for department.
Serves as artistic consultant to the Educational Materials directors and editors.
Ensures IIA brand is present in all material.
Tracks and places advertisements in print and electronic publications. Ensures incoming print and electronic files received from designer and advertisers are complete and accurate. Serve as contact person for advertiser issues.
Prepares all pre-press files for print products, ensuring accurate material is received by printer.
Reviews proofs and presents to management for approval.
Assists the director, production and new media with special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Computer Skills
Intermediate or higher ability to work in a computerized environment with a working knowledge of most Microsoft Office products. Experience with Macintosh OS X operating system, Adobe InDesign Creative Suite, Dreamweaver, and Flash is required.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and two or three years of experience with magazine, book, and Web design. Knowledge of magazine production and prepress required. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
