Publishing Conference and Expo
Each year, FMA holds a professional convention and tradeshow.
The convention provides you with the most extensive, top-notch
educational program about publishing offered in Florida.
The three-day meeting includes individual workshops given
by leading authorities in production and design, circulation
marketing, advertising sales, management and finance,
editorial concerns and writing. The publishing tradeshow
puts you in touch with the top magazine service providers
in the state.

Charlie Awards Competition
The prestigious annual Charlie Awards contest recognizes
excellence in writing, editing, graphic design, photography
and overall quality in categories ranging from “Best
Cover” to “Best Feature Headlines”.
While winning a coveted Charlie, the first-place award
in any category, carries prestige, the awards also provide
an opportunity to see the best other magazines have to
offer. An annual awards banquet is held each year at the
conclusion of the convention, where crystal trophies are
awarded during a rousing, multi-media presentation. You
don’t want to miss this “must-attend event!”

Web Site
The web site allows members to access FMA resources, including
information about current events, programs, magazine news
and interesting links. All FMA members are listed on the
FMA web site, and FMA maintains a current listing of employment
opportunities that are available through out the state.
The site keeps members updated on legislation and taxation
issues that affect the publishing industry.

The FMA newsletter provides industry information, member
updates, magazine events, job listings and much more!

Legislative Action
When legislation at the state Capital affects Florida publishers,
FMA keeps its members informed and protected. Each session,
the association works closely with other publishing interests
to represent the Florida magazine industry.

Opportunities
To encourage interaction between members, regional networking
opportunities are planned around the state. The networking
opportunities provide a forum to share common problems and
learn from industry leaders around the state.
