FMA Announces New Category in the Charlie Awards Competition: Best Overall Digital! The category description is as follows: Recognizing editorial achievement in magazine Web sites and online-only magazines. Eligibility is limited to magazine Web sites and online-only magazines. The category honors the outstanding use of reporting, writing, photography and design in digital media and the imaginative use of interactivity and multimedia in the fulfillment of the editorial mission of the publication. The category also honors the skillful and inventive packaging of information, instruction and advice. The Web site should be well designed and the navigation clear. Web sites entered in this category must convey a distinct editorial identity and create a unique magazine environment on the Web. Publications may also include, as part of their entry, links to mobile Web sites, services and applications and examples of social media that further the mission of the magazine.

Welcome to the official Web site of the Florida Magazine Association, the No. 1 portal to information, education, employment opportunities, and services designed to help FMA members be successful at every stage of their publishing careers.

Since its inception in 1954, FMA has become the largest state magazine association in the nation, made up of more than 200 publishing professionals, all based in the sunshine state.

Members benefit from affordable, top-quality education; regional and statewide networking opportunities for sharing ideas, information, and solutions; and an annual convention featuring world-class sessions, a gala awards banquet, and a publishing trade show. They also profit from information and updates on publishing issues such as legislation, taxation and postal issues, and paper-market trends that affect the industry both regionally and nationally.

In addition, FMA’s prestigious “Charlie” Awards contest, held each summer, rewards magazine excellence -– from photography to headlines -- around the state.

As an FMA member, you can exchange thoughts and ideas, talk over common problems, learn new techniques for improving your bottom line, and make key contacts in the industry. FMA is dedicated to helping you be more successful in your publishing-related endeavors. The Florida Magazine Association, the world’s best regional publishing association!
